Chapter 1: Darci The ground was soggy because it was saturated with her blood.  Painfully, Darci crawled towards the entrance on her hands and knees, wincing in pain each time her raw appendages made contact with the dirty floor.  Darci could not even cry if she wanted to, because she had cried out all of her tears long ago.     “Honey?”  The sound of her father’s voice jolted her back into reality.  She found herself back on the couch cuddled up next to him watching television. It was comforting.  Comfort was something that was in short supply for Darci.  If a stranger were to see them together on the couch, they might think
